The day will come when you will wake up and not feel that something is missing from your life. There will be a gradual disappearance of the feeling of emptiness. When it comes to serving as a constant reminder, it will not be as powerful as it once was. There will be a reduction in the difficulty of mornings, and even the aroma of coffee will no longer evoke recollections of the past. You will gradually become aware of the unpleasant details becoming less distinct, and it will become more difficult for you to remember every difficult time. When you gaze in the mirror daily, you will see that more and more of yourself is returning to you, piece by piece. You will eventually have a sense of wholeness once more. It is essential to keep in mind that healing takes time. In addition to that, there is this beautiful cake that aids in the healing process. Featuring a strawberry buttercream frosting, this delectable vanilla butter cake is sure to please. It is excellent for any event, offers comfort, and has a rich buttery flavour. It is also faintly sweet.
The origins of this cake are now in order. When I was baking, I invited a friend named Kelsey, also known as The Farmer’s Daughter, to accompany me. When she visited me for my birthday, we frosted a cake she had created. It had been almost a year since we had last worked together in the kitchen. During this particular occasion, we began our day at Le Marché St. George, indulging in a fruit crêpe, an almond croissant, and a cup of coffee. We returned to my residence immediately following our coffee date to create the cake. In keeping with the Valentine’s Day theme that we were going for, Kelsey brought in some stunning flowers from Confetti Floral. The flowers were in tones of pink and blush.
While baking a vanilla butter cake I had been eager to try, Kelsey made a strawberry-flavoured buttercream using freeze-dried strawberry powder. After putting the cake together, we decorated it with beautiful flowers and smoothed the buttercream. To complete the look, Kelsey even included some pink macarons. After taking photographs, we finally indulged in some of the cake we had been preparing for months. The cake was almost as delicious as the beautiful day we spent together.
